What is Challenge for Charity Weekend?

It is a weekend in April when the students from the nine west coast business schools that participate in C4C (Stanford, UCLA, UC Berkeley, UC Irvine, USC, UC Davis, Pepperdine, U. of Washington, and USF) gather at Stanford. It is a weekend to celebrate the completion of the year-long volunteerism and fundraising competition between the eight schools. Three days of sports competition and social events culminate with the announcement of the winner of the Golden Briefcase.

What sports are played during C4C Weekend? How do I get involved?

There are almost 40 sports competitions during C4C Weekend, ranging from bowling to billiards, swimming to soccer, and basketball to badminton. There is something for everyone!

Do I have to play sports to have fun at C4C Weekend?

Absolutely not. A large number of people attend C4C Weekend for the parties, the chance to meet people from other schools, and the opportunity to watch classmates display their athletic and academic talents. Non-athletic events include a Trivia Bowl and Spelling Bee and Friday and Saturday night parties.

Who is invited to C4C Weekend?

Everyone from each participating university's Business School is invited and may participate. This includes MBAs, PhDs, faculty, and staff. Significant others are also welcome and encouraged to attend.

Some schools may have specific requirements about who can attend and volunteer hour requirements, so please check with your local chapters C4C leaders before signing up.

The registration fee includes a t-shirt, breakfast and lunch on both Saturday and Sunday, entrance to all of the events and parties, and all of the beverages you can drink for the entire weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). Any funds left over after expenses go directly to Special Olympics and individual chapters’ charities.
